Cold Weather Power Breakfast: Cinnamon Banana Nut Steel Cut Oatmeal

oatmeal

This oatmeal is great on a cold morning (34 here this am) and pretty nourishing as well. I just gathered a few ingredients I already have in my kitchen to make a delicious breakfast.

Ingredients for a personal serving:

  • Bob’s GF Steel Cut Oats (1 serving) – I prepare this on the stove with 4 cups of water, a pinch of salt, and 1 cup of oats. It takes about 30 minutes (prepares 4 servings – just store the rest in your fridge for the week).
  • 1/2 a banana
  • 1 T. crunchy sunbutter (or any nut/seed butter of your choice)
  • 1/4 cup of raisins
  • a dash of cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. of vanilla
  • 1 tsp. of honey
  • a splash of milk (optional)

I have three more servings for the week, and I’ll probably do some different flavor combinations with those – berries and sunbutter, apples and cinnamon, peaches and cranberries.

What do you like to put in your oatmeal?
